Shetland

I first visited Shetland in 2003 for a three month artist residency with The Bonhoga Gallery.  They set me to work in that little purple hut, called ‘The Booth’, that sits in the shadow of the ruined castle, teetering on the edge of Scalloway harbour. I sat looking broad over the water and out beyond the safety of the hills and islands, stunned at what I had discovered, and eager to explore as much as I could and that my residency would allow.

These images are a small part of the hundreds I have taken on the islands over three visits,  and  reflect my constant collecting of images of interest and of those things that move me to not want to forget.  This collection includes images (along with others), that were exhibited at ‘The Booth Studio’, Scalloway, Shetland in 2003.
